Website settings
One screen, two sections, and two separate Save buttons. Each section saves only itself.
| Where | Manage → Settings → Website settings |
|---|---|
| Takes effect | After you publish (how) |
Save the section you edited before moving to the next one. Change something under General settings, then change a module toggle further down and press that Save, and the first change is gone. Nothing warns you.
1. General settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Favicon | The little icon in the browser tab. Pick a file from your media library, a square PNG or an .ico |
| Allow search index | Whether search engines may list your pages. Applies to your own domain, the free address is never indexed |
| Allow search follow | Whether they may follow the links on your pages. Same as above |
| 404 page (not found) | Which page a visitor gets for an address that doesn't exist |
| 401 page (not logged in) | Which page a non-member gets when they hit a members-only page |
| Cookie bar privacy policy page | The page the cookie dialog links to |
| Enable cookie bar | Ask visitors for consent, and hold back what they refuse |
| Enable dark mode | Gives every colour setting a second, dark half |
Three of these are dropdowns of your own pages, and all three default to "none". A 404 page you haven't set means visitors get a bare error instead of your website. Build a simple one.
The indexing switches are the ones with consequences: see Meta title, description and share image. The cookie bar has its own article: The cookie bar.
2. Enabled modules
Four toggles: members, forms, publications and webshop.
A module that's off is genuinely absent. Its screens don't appear in the left menu, and its elements are missing from the editor's component list. If you can't find the form element or the blog element, check here first.
Switching a module on adds its menu and its elements. Switching one off hides them again; it doesn't delete what you built with it.
The other settings pages
The Settings menu has two more pages for the whole website:
- Analytics and verification: the IDs for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and similar services, and the Google and Bing verification codes. See Measuring your visitors.
- Organization details: your business name, logo and contact details, and links to your social media profiles. See Organization details and social media profiles.
Everything here needs a publish
None of these settings reach the live website until you publish, including the cookie bar, the 404 page and the indexing switches. See Saving, previewing and publishing.
Common issues
I saved and my change is gone.

You pressed the other section's Save. Each section saves independently; redo the change and press the button inside that section.
I can't find the analytics or verification fields.

They have their own page: Manage → Settings → Analytics and verification.
Indexing is on but the site still isn't being listed.

Check which address you're looking at. The free address your website came with is always served noindex, nofollow, whatever this switch says. Connect your own domain and it takes effect there.
An element is missing from the component list.

Its module is off. Section 2.

It lists your own pages. You need to have made one first.
I turned on the cookie bar and nothing happened.

Publish. Then check in a private window; your own browser remembers that you already answered.
